Over many years, I suspect that many of us have spent a fortune in collecting Elvis records for our collection.

But what is the most that you have paid for just one release and when? It could be a rare Sun single or a big box set like the Elvis Masters that came out in 2010. And the "when" is important too, as it gives an idea of how that would translate in today’s value.

For me, I think it was the Complete Masters set which was around $750 / £490 back when released and at the then exchange rate, which equates to roughly £820 / $1100 now, although a few are trying to sell it for in excess of $1500.

2010 was the release year for that set

Since I don’t buy anything that includes a book, I really can’t remember any
very expensive Elvis item that I’ve purchased over the years beyond the
standard Sony/FTD CD boxes.(I dont have any boxes that includes more than 6 CDs)
However, there are many items that weren’t especially expensive but
took me years to obtain.

I had to buy it seconshand from ebay and it cost me almost 6 times the original price.

Worth every oenny though.

I assume that was the big FTD version. And at 6 times the original price, that would have made it around £500??

I paid 700 Euros. I think I underestimated the mark up

For me, it was this : It cost me roughly 1434 euros (more than 1000 euros for the Single, plus taxes to have it sent to my home in France). It was at the end of 2016.

That's serious money, but this is a piece of history. I would (almost) say... worth every dime!

Brilliant to have a copy and being able to afford it. If I spent that kind d of money on a single, I think my wife would have me sectioned but then if money is no problem….lol.

I know that it is a lot of money but sometimes my children say "Daddy, you have the money, you have worked a lot so buy everything that you want, and don't wait anymore"... so, I bought it. By the way, to have all these FTD's CD and all the concerts that I've got, it is also a lot of money !!
