Yes they are.
As long as they aren’t the nasty ones that cause some kind of chemical reaction that can take place over time.
As long as they are the new kind of Polypropylene (PP) sleeves and aren’t the nasty PVC ones that cause some kind of chemical reaction that can take place over time.
I had a bad experience once with one of the CD's in such a sleeve in an FTD book. The CD surface was all foggy/brownish. Luckily it still played well. But since then I always take the CD's out of these kind of bags asap and store them, outside the box, in regular CD cases or in paper sleeves. Better safe than sorry...John wrote: December 19th, 2025, 1:18 pmLet's keep our fingers crossed.FanFrom'61 wrote: December 19th, 2025, 12:52 pmAs long as they are the new kind of Polypropylene (PP) sleeves and aren’t the nasty PVC ones that cause some kind of chemical reaction that can take place over time.![]()
Sorry, but that is bullshit.JoeyCoco wrote: December 19th, 2025, 11:30 am “The Making Of…” is a long-term project that is worked on throughout the year and usually released toward the end of the year. “Blue Hawaii” was an exception, as it was released in May 2023. The release timing depends on how much photo material is available, or whether new material has recently been found or acquired. Although audio is a secondary focus, not all films have surviving unreleased audio material, that is erased or lost.
Hey Keith, could you tell us a little bit about the work involved in putting together a book like this? Could you share any particular stories? For example, what were the restrictions for the release of Elvis Now In Person 1972? Thank you.Keith wrote: December 19th, 2025, 6:43 pmSorry, but that is bullshit.JoeyCoco wrote: December 19th, 2025, 11:30 am “The Making Of…” is a long-term project that is worked on throughout the year and usually released toward the end of the year. “Blue Hawaii” was an exception, as it was released in May 2023. I worked on the G.I.Blues book with David before he started the King Creole book, but the King Creole set came out first. The same happened with Jailhouse Rock and Blue Hawaii.
These sorts of sets take a lot of time to put together, years in fact, and the research is second to none, and I can state that for a fact.
David is like a bloodhound, finding facts out of the smallest of clues.
Seriously, these sets are expensive, without doubt, but most people don't have any idea what goes in the background producing them.
I, for one, get paid by getting a free set, and I'm more than happy with that, believe me. Just seeing these sets in print after seeing them on my computer screen for so long in is incredible for me, and very satisfying.
These sets are a labour of love by those who help with them, and everyone involved, and long may they continue.

It’s interesting that you jumped straight to “bullshit” rather than simply asking where my information came from. A question would have taken less energy and looked far less dramatic.Keith wrote: December 19th, 2025, 6:43 pmSorry, but that is bullshit.JoeyCoco wrote: December 19th, 2025, 11:30 am “The Making Of…” is a long-term project that is worked on throughout the year and usually released toward the end of the year. “Blue Hawaii” was an exception, as it was released in May 2023. I think so, too. I actually used rice paper sleeves to put the cds in before putting them back in the book. That worked well.
Dont care about thatJohn wrote: December 22nd, 2025, 5:53 pmbut Elvis might be playing tuba, or flugelhorn on one of them.KingElvis wrote: December 22nd, 2025, 7:14 am Playing this release now, and I really enjoy it despite there being nothing really new on it.
I could live without the instrumental tracks, though…I always skip them on any releases.
You are lucky! Who did you order from?John wrote: January 2nd, 2026, 1:17 pmMine was shipped internationally. There was so much packaging it took me about half an hour to remove it.Mike C wrote: December 30th, 2025, 7:48 pm I just received the set late last week but have not yet had time to dive into it. Just wish the outer packing of was a bit stronger. My set came with dents caused by shipping internationally. I don't blame my Elvis dealer for this -- I blame FTD. A little thicker cardboard would work wonders.
Good to hear they packed it well. Thanks.John wrote: January 2nd, 2026, 3:49 pmBear Family Records.Mike C wrote: January 2nd, 2026, 3:04 pmYou are lucky!
