Southern California’s long-running, annual Elvis Presley birthday celebration is coming to the Venice West.

The show, co-founded in 1986 by Southern California musicians James Intveld and Ronnie Mack, and the late Los Angeles raconteur, producer, music writer and public-access television host Art Fein, will happen 6:30-11:30 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 8.

For nearly four decades, the Elvis Birthday Bash has featured rock, country, alt-country, gospel, blues, and rockabilly artists for a night of 20+ acts, most backed by Ronnie Mack’s legendary Barn Dance Band. It has also served as a launching pad for roots artists such as The Blasters, Rank and File, Lucinda Williams, The Dave and Deke Combo, Rosie Flores and James Intveld.

This year’s event hosted by Deke Dickerson, Dave Stuckey and Grey DeLisle, will include performances by Ronnie Mack & The Legendary Barn Dance Band (John McDuffie, Paul Marshall, Marty Rifkin, Skip Edwards & David Raven), James Intveld, Billy Vera, Lynda Kay, Carla Olson, Tom Kenny, Lil’ Mo and the Dynaflos, Count Smokula, Joe Finkle, Carl Sonny Leyland, I See Hawks In L.A., Brian Hogan, Rip Masters, Justin Curtis, Alias Means, Nocona, Dylan Thomas, Rick Shea, Lisa Finnie, Groovy Rednecks, Talkin’ Treason and Danette Christine.

Lisa Finnie, producer of this year’s Elvis Presley Birthday Bash, assembled the acts and said many are repeat performers who also appeared on Fein’s public-access television program. Each act will perform two Elvis Presley songs.

The event has been hosted at several venues throughout L.A., including The World Famous Palomino Club, The House of Blues, Club Lingerie, The Music Machine, The Avalon Hollywood, The Fonda Theatre, The Write-Off Room, and The Echo and The EchoPlex.

It has traditionally been a non-profit event, supporting local charities such as the Los Angeles Mission, the Union Rescue Mission, and the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association. Proceeds from the 2026 event will be donated to the Alzheimer’s Association in memory of Fein, who passed away in July 2025 and battled dementia.

“Last year, we chose the Los Angeles Fire Relief because of the fires, but this one is to honor Art because he was such an important driving force of the Elvis show and an important figure in Los Angeles roots music,” Finnie said.”Most of the performers, if not all, on the show want to honor Art Fein, as he was so supportive of their work.”
