Not really. Even if you add all the people that watched it days or months later or 5 years later in the UK to the 180 million who could have watched it ‘live’ in the Pacific region if they had TVs, you would not get close to 1 billion, let alone 1.5 billion.

She was also of certainty that the 1969 opening night acetate was genuinly the 1969 opening show when played on a gates of Graceland episode. Even though it was the concert that most people know as the August 3rd show.

After hundreds of posts in the old forum about the restoration being too expensive and that the TTWII stuff will never see the light of day you are the first one (to me) knowing that it was already restored for years and a release was planned. Who said that? I assume this is great news for most of us. So, why has Covid postponed it? I wouldn't have mind sitting in a lockdown watching several complete TTWII shows on BluRay.
It has been well documented what was found in 2001 for EOT and what was restored but not allowed to be issued.
Since I saw EOT as a teenager I have been waiting decades for a professional production of the concerts filmed to
be issued.
The problem is Baz will produce through his eyes what he expects the public will want to see t!
One of the best concerts Elvis ever did was the April 1972 Hampton Roads gig they have the concert they should release
a professional version considering the grey labels have had one out there for years now I for one would like to see it
in my lifetime

No opportunity has been lost. No one knows what will follow the movie on video. No one knows what extras could come with the movie. Could we wait for now and save our complaints for later.

Yes I believe the number is around the 470 million mark which is still impressive but of course, that is not the viewings at the time the concert actually took place as it was never beamed ‘live’ around the world.

You’d have to ask the guys that were running the On Tour petition. This was purely for a revamped Elvis on Tour and nothing to do with TTWII. The person who put together the revamped TTWII had seen all the On Tour footage, but it never went any further as interest and sales in the revamped TTWII were apparently disappointing which was the nail in the coffin as far as a revamped On Tour was concerned twenty odd years ago. Then 20 years later, and after much pressure, it seemed like Warner’s had decided to run with a new version but that too got cancelled.
I find it interesting how Buz repeatedly announced that they have also found the sound to the footage and they synced it. Does that mean that Schmidlin in 2000 watched 50 hours of silent footage? Very entertaining

Doubt it. I don’t believe a lot of what Baz says. We've been told by various people that all the footage had already been scanned for preservation ages ago. And if Warner’s intended doing a Special re-release of On Tour a few years ago, they would not be doing that without sound, so I don’t believe it when he claims he has recently located all this stuff.
