This release from Venus still has some unreleased takes on it. Surely we are all eagerly awaiting the mighty fine recording sessions for Easy Come, Easy Go to be released in it's complete gorgeousness... one of the highlights in Elvis' recording career!

Hard Knocks is actually a pretty good listen. It actually was the first unofficial release of the movie version of Hard Knocks in perfect quality!

I've never been very fond of the "Easy Come, Easy Go" soundtrack. So contentwise this CD is a mixed bag for me. But I agree that the (sound)quality of this CD is very good. Venus alway delivered!Mike C wrote: December 16th, 2025, 6:25 pm Hard Knocks is actually a pretty good listen. There have been many great bootleg labels over the last three decades, and Venus is probably my favoriteJomies wrote: December 27th, 2025, 5:24 am Venus was a perfect label with some truly new material!

Re: Bootlegs with offically unreleased STUDIO outtakes
For me, the Venus label was one of the most important in Elvis' entire imported discography. It brought us true rarities, exclusive and unique mixes. They probably have more material stored away... it would be interesting to see a new release from them. The Unedited Masters series is simply fantastic.

Re: Bootlegs with offically unreleased STUDIO outtakes
I agree that the Venus was great and important. However, I think that the most groundbreaking and important labels were the old Bilko label (for, mostly, unreleased studio outtakes) and the Fort Baxter label (mostly soundboards)... Their releases, in the day, were simply jawdropping!dougkapp wrote: December 31st, 2025, 9:07 am For me, the Venus label was one of the most important in Elvis' entire imported discography. Re: Bootlegs with offically unreleased STUDIO outtakes
I agree with you that Bilko and Fort Baxter were very important. These two labels took import or boot releases to a new level, rivaling the label's own releases. I remember, in the 90s, every CD released by these two labels amazed us with its sound quality and rarity. Just Pretend, There's Always Me, and many others were true milestones for fans. And Bilko, Fort Baxter, and even Diamond were responsible for the existence of FTD.
The difference between these labels and Venus is that Venus managed to bring something interesting and new to fans, even after so many years of releases by FTD.
I always wonder how this material got out of the RCA/BMG/Sony archives... I've read many interesting stories...

Re: Bootlegs with offically unreleased STUDIO outtakes
Don’t forget the Golden Archive label, what they were releasing was truly mind blowing at the time. It maybe run of the mill stuff now but back then most of it was brand new to our ears. Plus those covers were just stunning, far better than what RCA were doing at the time. Who could forget that Loving You gatefold photo on the first Rockin’ Rebel? Was Gerr involved with them? I know one of his posters was included in From The Waist Up.

I don't know if Ger was involved. I will look it up in the bootleg book. Maybe it is mentioned there.Colin.Bee wrote: January 1st, 2026, 5:01 am Don’t forget the Golden Archive label, what they were releasing was truly mind blowing at the time. Re: Bootlegs with offically unreleased STUDIO outtakes
@Colin.Bee : I took a quick look, but in the 'bootleg Elvis' book there is no mention that Ger Rijff was involved. But that doesn't mean he wasn't of course. At least, as you mentioned, there was a bonus poster bij Tallhair...
It should be this one... correct?
