Elvis and Tillman Franks took a bus to Houston to see “Western Swing” king Bob Wills at Cook’s Hoedown Club while everyone else relaxed and made their way back to Shreveport for Saturday’s Hayride commitment. According to Franks, neither Elvis nor Wills were particularly impressed with the other

1957
RCA Victor has already received a half-million advanced orders for Elvis Presley’s fourth LP, “Elvis’ Christmas Album”. So far only 200,000 copies have been pressed. Over the years, the disc has sold over 13 million copies in the United States, making it the best-selling Christmas / holiday album of all time.

Scotty Moore and Bill Black played Texas State Fair, Dallas, TX (4 shows daily from October 5 to 20)

Elvis went to see wrestling matches at Ellis Auditorium. After that he had dinner with Penny Banner, one of the lady wrestlers, whom he took back to Graceland afterwards.

Flaming Star Elvis recorded the new title song Flaming Star at Radio Recorders in an 8.00 to 11.00 p.m. session.

Elvis reported to MGM in Hollywood for the preproduction on Kissin’ Cousins. During the week he had script and choreography rehearsals. There were also wig fittings for his role as the blond twin.

1965

Elvis arrived at Graceland at 11.00 p.m. He drove the Dodge Motor Home himself followed by a caravan of 5 cars.

1967
Elvis went to Las Vegas for a few days before heading to Arizona for Stay Away, Joe

1974
Elvis performed at the Henry Levitt Arena, Wichita State University, Wichita, Kansas.

The album “From Elvis Presley Boulevard, Memphis, Tennessee” was confirmed gold by the RIAA.

“Elvis 2nd To None” was released.

The album included Elvis’s #1 singles that did not appear on the previous release, other notable recordings by the artist, one previously unreleased recording (“I’m a Roustabout”) and a remix of “Rubberneckin'” by Paul Oakenfold.

Although not as successful as its predecessor, 2nd to None made the top 10 in at least nine countries and received certifications in several regions.
