Elvis Presley’s soundtrack album “Loving You” hit #1 in the U.S. It spent ten weeks at No. 1 on the Billboard Top Pop Albums chart. It was certified Gold on April 9, 1968 by the Recording Industry Association of America.

1960
Elvis had a luncheon interview at the set of Flaming Star with Vernon Scott. Together with some other friends from Memphis, Gary Pepper, 27 at the time, in a wheelchair from MS and who was president of the Memphis Elvis Tankers Fan Club.

The soundtrack recording for Kissin Cousins began. They started at 7.00 p.m. till 3.30 a.m. Elvis did not record his part because he had a cold. He did came over though to meet the director, Gene Nelson, who also played congas with the band.

Elvis had an appointment at the studio to get his hair cut. Instead of that, he had his hair cut at home and arrived to late for his “Easy Come, Easy Go” recording session. By midnight he had completed several movie songs.

The UK press reported that there really was a girl who works down the chip shop and swears she’s Elvis’ daughter, after Lisa Marie Presley was spotted serving up deep-fried treats on a mobile motor called Mr Chippy. The 44-year-old, offspring of Elvis and actress Priscilla, donned an apron and cooked battered cod for the locals. Kim Scales, who owned the business, said: “Lisa Marie likes to see how we live and experience British life. We were laughing because the customers didn’t know who she was. She really enjoyed it.” The singer, had moved to the quaint village of Rotherfield, East Sussex, two years ago from Los Angeles.
