Re: Songs from Elvis movies
This is a very nice song indeed. I first heard it on one of the Camdens. Loved it right away.
In the early 60's Elvis knew exactly how to make a gentle ballad like this sound perfect. A quality he had all his life btw. I do believe that, when Elvis had an emotional connection with a song, the rest ...

Austin Butler is top of my list. No doubt about it. Second would be Michael St. Gerard. And Kurt Russel was not bad either. Most of the others I haven't seen, I must admit.
For me, the most irritating "Elvis" is Jonathan Rhys Meyers. Watching him perform "If I can dream"... good Lord, help!

Re: Elvis Music On Vinyl reissues
I must add this:
I have now listened to these LP's, except for the last 2 LP's from the Aloha set... What great sets! They look great and they sound fantastic. Ultra silent vinyl. No hiss, no pops or cracks, no ticks whatsoever! Super flat vinyl.
Right now "For The Heart" is blasting out of the ...

Re: Elvis vinyl related discussion
This was going to be a JR musing on the main site. But I thought it fit far better here.
Would you believe we have better shops in Nashville than in Memphis? Memphis has a pretty good (limited in what they have) shop in midtown that occasionally have some "goodies" but at a premium. And a shop ...

Re: Elvis Music On Vinyl reissues
Yesterday the 2nd batch of MOV reissues arrived. One, imo, very positive difference is that the packaging of the 4-LP Aloha From Hawaii is different. The older releases were housed in a triple gatefold LP cover. I always felt is was inconvenient to get the LP's in and out of the sleeve.
Now the ...

In 1984 this beauty was released; "Radio Recorders Revisited". A nice selection of outtakes from the "Kid Galahad" sessions.

I was 19 then. And yes, those were the days! Everytime I got the new Elvis fan mag in the mail (I believe it was the Dutch mag "Elvisions") I got almost got a heartattack from seeing all these adds for the newest boots. Remember, in those years RCA came with almost nothing. Compilation after ...

From 1956 we go to 1957. Elvis' name was now established in Europe too. Bravo magazine started their series "Elvis Presley Story" so that German (and European) fans could learn who the boy was... this boy from Missouri (...)

You are very polite in calling "Elvis sings for children" a bizarre LP.
I would call it.... junk.
With a J... and a U.... and a N... and a K... Put 'em all together and what have you got?... JUNK!
Sorry... couldn't resist.
